Anyone Out There???

I really, really, really don't know if anyone ever checks this site anymore. I haven't posted since MAY!!! That's hard to believe but the truth is...I got sucked into the world of Facebook.

I see that I have a new "follower" BabyDoll08. Unfortunately I can't seem to connect to a blogger page for this person, so BabyDoll08- if you are reading this, please leave me a comment! I'd love to know who you are and how you found my blog. I'd also love to start following yours if you have one!

So, lot's of stuff has been going on since I last blogged. Stuff that has been keeping me VERY busy! I'm going to blog about it one of these days and give you a bunch of details but for now, suffice it to say that I'm chasing dreams and actually catching some of them! Like I said - more details to follow in a blog post soon - I PROMISE!!

For those of you who still check in from time to time - thanks for not giving up on me! I really do plan to post a little more frequently! And if I don't, leave me harrassing comments and force me to post! LOL!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Quick Post...

Just a quick post to share some GREAT news...

Remember in this post I told you guys that F had been selected as the 5th grade poetry winner at his school for the PTA Citizenship Essay/Poetry contest? Well the 1st place poems and essays from each school went on to compete at district level and we received a letter informing us that his poem placed in the top 3 in the district!! WAHOOOO!!!!!!

Now to give you some perspective, there are 35 elementary schools in the district. Each school was able to send up to 4 essays/poems - their winning poem and their winning essay for 5th grade and their winning poem and their winning essay for 6th grade. To the best of my knowledge, once the entries were recieved by the district, they were combined and no longer competed by grade level. My math skills aren't too sharp people, but I do believe that means he competed against approximately 139 kiddos! Pretty good, huh!?! He will be honored at a reception on March 30th which also happens to be his 11th birthday!

WE. ARE. SO. PROUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once Upon A Time...

there was a boy named Tarzan. He had two sisters, Jane and Baby Jane.

Tarzan and the Janes were on Spring Break and looking for entertainment while Mama Jane worked on Hut-Improvement projects. Tarzan found a wonderful vine hanging from a tree in the woods behind their hut. He pulled the vine to test it's strength. Ahhhh, just perfect for 3 little monkeys to swing from.

Tarzan and the Janes spent the next few hours playing with the vine. They pulled it, they climbed it, and they swung from it. Mama Jane was delighted that Tarzan and the Janes had found some good old fashioned entertainment. Nothing could put a damper on the fun they were having.

UNTIL...

An occupant from the next hut over informed Tarzan and the Janes that the vine was...

POISON IVY!!!!!!!!

Yes, it's true. Not just one, but all three of my lil darlins swung for hours on end from a Poison Ivy vine.

Good times, my friends. Good times.

So far, so good - no rash yet. That may have to do with the fact that I scrubbed most of their skin off of their bodies in a frenzied attempt to halt the entire disaster. They probably didn't need that much skin anyway. I've read that the rash can appear from 4 hours after exposure to 10 days after exposure. Good Lord, it's going to be a long 10 days!
