New Friends...

We are back from our fantastic 2 week vacation to California to visit my parents! I have TONS of pictures (over 500)! I started sorting them by day/activity and thought the best way to sort them was to make drafts and then I could select which draft to post first. WRONG! Apparently once you make a draft, blogger automatically sequences them in the order that you created them. So in other words, because I made this draft first, I cannot now make another draft and post it first. Bummer! Lesson learned though! Now I know and I will make sure to create my drafts in the order that I want them to post!

Anyway - this was a really fun day that we had while in California...

This is me and my friend Christina...

Christina has triplet daughters!...
Emily...
Ashley...
and Madeline...

(Did I get that right, Chris???)

I met Christina in blogland!! We met through Sarah who does the FFF themes and both Christina and I found Sarah through Heather's blog. While looking at pictures on Christina's blog one day, it struck me that her neighborhood looked very similar to the one we lived in when we were in California. I looked at her profile and saw that she lives in Southern California. I thought there's no way it could be the same area but I left her a comment and asked if she lives in Torrance. She does! Amazing!! Not only that but we also lived in another city (Lomita) at the same time back in the mid 90's and only lived a few blocks away from each other! What a small world!
When we planned our trip to Cali, I emailed Christina and let her know we'd be there. We agreed to meet up at the beach and it was SO MUCH FUN!!! The kids hit it off right away! We took a walk over to the beach playground...

Christina on "swing duty"...

M and Ashley (don't they look like they've known each other their whole lives!?!)...

M and Emily...

(from L to R) Ashley, Madeline, M, and K...

my 3 monkeys...

The whole gang (L to R) F in the back and then K, Ashley, Madeline,Emily, and M...

After playing at the park, we had some wet and wild time in the surf...
It was hard to say goodbye to our new friends but I feel so lucky to have found them in blogland and to know I'll be able to keep up with Christina and her beautiful kiddos through her blog!

Thanks for a FUN day Christina, Ashley, Emily, and Madeline!

Ah- what a fun day that was! The girls are still asking to go to your house! Hmmm.. maybe one day we'll load up an RV and tour the US :) Not sure about blogger- but with blogspot we do have an option to set a date to publish? There's a little spot under the box you create a post in that says "post options", not sure if blogger has that- bummer if it doesn't :( It's the only way I get regular posts up! Hope you are enjoying your summer back at home- I'm officially on vacation now! Yay! Thanks again for a great day and taking time to meet us!!!

How cool is that? That being the meeting of a blogger buddy living in your old 'hood. :) AWESOME pictures! The beach looks like tons of fun, and the kids look like they had a blast. I'm glad you had a good vaction!

Oh, I think you can change the date on your drafts under post options...but I guess Christina already said that.
