I know, I know! I have fallen off the face of blogland again! I'm in the midst of a PTA project that has me pretty busy but I swear I have NOT forgotten about 2008 Year In Review Part 2! This, however, is not it! I just couldn't let Martin Luther King Day go by without sharing one of my favorite K stories...
A couple of years ago, K came home from school and we had the following conversation:
K: "Mom, what would happen if there was a peach person and a brown person in the same family but they didn't get along?"
Not realizing that her class had been discussing Martin Luther King, I was completely thrown off by this question and wasn't quite sure where the conversation was heading.
Me: "Well, they would have to work it out."
Apparently that was not the answer she was looking for. An incredulous look crossed her face and she replied...
K: "Nooooo Mom! They would call Morris Luther. He's a King and he would help them figure it all out."
~~~Long pause while brain tries to decipher meaning behind conversation, followed by...
~~~Loud CLICK as brain engages, followed by...
~~~Hysterical laughter!!!
Happy MLK Day!
